It being a spectacular day and The Motorcycle Doctor having some time, and Ray having worked at home and being done at 2:30, both Silver and Wrex went down for Oil! Oil! Oil!
Ray shuttled them both down and back, me not feeling well. Still. Again. Whatever.
All Oil!-ed and gassed and ready to go. Too bad Wrex is not street legal. Still mulling what to do about that and feeling fairly bummed and trodden on by the WSP.
But yesterday and today were so beautiful. I tell you, these spectacular days are worth the wait. And the bit of rain and clouds we have to suffer through to get to a spectacular day is all forgotten in the splendor of the blue, blue skies.
It's true, you know. The bluest skies you'll ever see ARE in Seattle.

Golly, congratulations on having a two-day string of good weather, we haven't had that yet.
If the law of bikes having two or three wheels was written YEARS ago as you say. Why on earth would you feel trod upon when some body enforces the law? You support the laws of the land, don't you?
Yes, I do support the laws of the land. I am not a scofflaw and do not willfully break laws. I even pay all my taxes. I'm not out there riding. I doubt I will. The cost of riding an "illegal" vehicle would be too great, especially in case of an accident.
It would be nice if they "grandfathered" bikes with tow-pacs already installed.
Here's another, similar example. Consider the MP3 scooter, a motorcycle with 2 wheels close together in the front and one large tire in the back. It behaves EXACTLY like a 2-wheeled motorcycle when underway. Here in Washington, the WSP, after considering for about 3 years, classified it as a trike.
However, it does not drive like a trike. It drives like a motorcycle, behaves like a motorcycle and in fact IS a motorcycle. But it has 3 wheels and so the WSP says it cannot possibly be a motorcycle.
Therefore, it's a trike in the eyes of the WSP.
However, that makes no sense because it does not behave like a trike. So the MSF has made agreement with the WSP that people who are riding MP3s will take the standard motorcycle 2-wheeler training classes and pass THAT test, which is different from the trike training classes and test because the vehicles behave differently.
The MP3 rider HAS to pass the 2 wheeler class and test to get a license. The instructor then gives the successful rider a card which the rider takes to a Licensing Office, which will then issue the rider a TRIKE license.
That license says the rider can drive any trike or sidecar rig. But if the rider does, the rider will be in trouble, because he or she won't know how to safely drive a 3 wheeler and will be likely to have an accident.
The rider IS, by virtue of taking and passing the 2-wheeler test, qualified to drive a 2 wheeler instead. But he or she will NOT get a 2-wheeler license.
Make sense to you? Not to me. It is an example of the letter of the law being strictly applied and not the spirit of the law, or even the sense of the law.
Same thing with my rig.
Makes no sense to me either, but hey it's Washington.
